about

Pleaser is the sophomore effort from superfive and is the culmination of over 2 years of work which began in early summer 2014 at Snugfit Studio in Richboro, PA with longtime producer John Lovrich. John was a mainstay of the Philadelphia music scene working with notable area acts such as Dandelion, The Goats, and Mae Pang as well as many Black Hole Records artists. When John suddenly and unexpectedly passed away mid sessions the band was left with an albums worth of unfinished tracks locked away on the studio’s hard drive.

After some months of searching the band connected with Grammy nominated producer / engineer Mark Sarisky (formerly of Third Story Recording) who was able to recover the lost tracks so work could continue. Working back and forth between Third Story Recording in Philadelphia and Mark’s Falling Rock Studio in Danville the band was able to finish recording and mixing the album,.

Building on the straightforward guitar rock of their debut, Pleaser expands superfive’s sound considerably with honest heartfelt songwriting and even more dynamic arrangements, including guest appearances by area musicians such as Philadelphia’s Rk$tdy Horns. From the hard driving 70’s rock feel of the title track to the late night longing of Lonely, or the horn laden surge of For The Better, Pleaser showcases the many facets of the band;s diverse musical interests into a cohesive whole.

complete this project
Pleaser is the culmination of over 2 years
of work which began in early summer 2014
at Snugfit Studio in Richboro, PA with our
longtime friend, producer and studio guru
John Lovrich.
Sadly, the project came to a sudden halt
that September with John’s unexpected
passing at age 53. It has been a long
journey to finish this project without him.
But one we felt we needed to complete.

Thank you to our families
and fans for their support.

Mark Sarisky would like to
thank Rupert Neve
